They developed skills, for example, in the arenas of personal financial management, career development and job search; and
took personality assessments that led to valuable self-awareness and insights. In addition, the students are now armed with

working with Smooth Transition, based in Riverside County. The nonprofit organization is transparent and committed to serving
the diverse and underserved populations of Riverside County. Ms. Goins has a vision for her agency and she is to be commended
for providing sound leadership to her organization -- against all economic and personal challenges. She has been able
to navigate the agency to a point where she has already served 100 students within the first year of operation and is already
in the process of developing other Smooth Transition sites around Southern California. Ms. Goins directs the agency
