Smooth Transition is excited to announce our newest program we will
be offering to students. We will be launching a 6 month comprehensive Culinary Arts program that will introduce students to
the Hospitality Industry. During this course they will be learning the proper Sanitation and Safety of a kitchen, Introduction
to Cooking, Baking and Pastry, American Regional Cuisine, Asian Fusion, Garde Manger, French Cuisine and also have the opportunity
to intern in the on-site restaurant. In addition we will be introducing them to Culinary Management with a course long group
project where they will build and design their own restaurant based on location, potential revenue and food costs. At
the end of the 6 month program students will present their projects as well as some food samples that they plan on having
in the restaurant.
The internship will give students the chance to experience not
only back of the house and how it is properly run but also front of the house and what it takes to make these two parts of
a restaurant run together to form a successful business. It will also give them work experience to take into any restaurant
job with personal references and a resume.
This is a WASC accredited program. Upon
graduation all students will receive an accredited vocational certification of completion.
