Guard Card Training

Basic Class Overview: The California Guard Card 1 day, 8 hour course is required by the state agency, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), for a student to obtain a guard card.  A guard card is the state license to work as a security officer in California.  There is no educational requirement to get the guard card. Students will take the guard card exam the same day, upon completion of the course.  Student will be required to two additional trainings for 24 additional hours of training (for a total of 40 hours) within the first 6 months to maintain their guard card status. The fee for this class does not include the cost for a DOJ background check of $66.00 and the state card fee of $45.00 (paid separately).
***Important Note: The student needs to be 18 years old or older, with no felonies or serious misdemeanors on their criminal history record.  A FBI and DOJ background check will be performed.***
